Common mental health problems affect many people however studies have found that there is in an increased prevalence in Young People that are Looked After.
Children and Young People’s Health Outcomes Forum found that Looked After Children were five times as likely to attempt suicide than their peers.
It is for this reason that we ensure that our team have training and experience of working with young people who have a history of mental health struggles such as, anxiety, depression and self-harm.
We ensure that using an understanding and non- judgemental approach we build a trusting rapport with our service users, providing them with consistent dignity and respect and valuing their individual perspective in their challenges.
We work closely with professional specialists in mental health such as CAMHS to ensure that the young person is provided with all support available.
